Hi generous people,
As you may know dad (Paul Webb) was diagnosed 9 months ago with stage 4 multiple metastasised melanomas on the brain and body. Given the severity and advanced nature of dad's cancer he had a prognosis of around 2-3 weeks to live. Several melanomas he had were bleeding and one actually raptured causing him to suffer a stroke, resulting in multiple brain surgeries performed by the exceptional neurosurgeoun Professor Brain Owler. Paul was immediately put under the Melanoma Institute and under the supervision of the talented Professor Alexander Menzies and Angela Hong he was given intense course of whole and specific brain radiation as well as immunotherapy. Even with modern technology and medical advances, our dad would not be alive today without the immunotherapy as previous treatment could not work with the advanced nature of his cancer. Fast forward, 9 months later and Dad not only is still with us, his melanomas have reduced in size and a few have even gone completely. The research done by the melanoma institute, without exaggeration has given a dad a chance of survival, which he is currently taking with both hands. He still has a long way to go, but his story is inspirational for all melanoma sufferers, even the ones with the most advanced cases that recovery is possible through groundbreaking science and research. Dad and the family want to give back to the place we owe his life too, and want to raise money for this fantastic organisation. Dad will be walking with family (of Linda,David, Michael, Stephen, Matthew and Nicole) on March 17th in Western Sydney. In the light of the seriousness of dad's situation, he will be walking as far as he is able too, not just from himself but for all those out there fighting this horrible cancer. His strength has been unfaltering and love unrelentless, even in the most hardest of circumstances. We would really appreciate if you could spare some money to be donated towards The Melanoma Institue. The works that they undertake is at the forefront of skin cancer research and treatment in the world. They are literally saving thousands of people lives each year (including our dads). We are asking you to dig deep for this cause and we appreciate all the care, positive thoughts and prays for have given Dad over the last 9 months
